3 Rivers

With over 470 employees and a strong focus on positive culture within the company, 3Rivers Federal Credit Union prides itself in being employee centric. Keeping a strong pulse on their employees, they’ve earned accolades such as Workplace Excellence as voted on by their staff.

Focused on hiring from within, 3Rivers offers a great career with training available for advancement. Steve talks to Carrie Jones on what they’re looking for when it comes to job opportunities and internships.

City of Fort Wayne

As a municipality, the City of Fort Wayne provides a variety of services across the entire city including law enforcement and fire protection. With so many opportunities, there are many needs both in the field as well as in the office from administrative duties to engineering and electricians.

Steve speaks with Carolyn Ovitt, Director of Human Resources, about what type of candidates they’re looking for and which courses and classes she suggests to find a good match with the City of Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne Metals

Fort Wayne Metals makes medical-grade wire for customers around the world.  Its workforce is more than 3000 people and many of them work in a facility near the Fort Wayne International airport.  The company is committed to continuously improving its product.  
Fort Wayne Metals says it offers generous pay and benefits, laid back environment, internal training programs, and flexible work hours.  “You are feel welcomed and are given every opportunity to grow,” says one employee.  Another employee says, “I am so grateful for the encouragement and chance to grow.”
We spoke to a variety of company managers including Kevin Hockaday, HR business partner,  about jobs and internships at Fort Wayne Metals.

Fort Wayne Community Schools

Fort Wayne Community Schools employs nearly 4000 people in a wide variety of jobs and skill levels.

In addition to 1800 classroom teachers, the school district payroll has a variety of support positions from bus drivers, cooks, teacher’s aides, interpreters, and maintenance staff.  
The school district has more than 50 school buildings so there is a good chance it has jobs close to where you live.
Some jobs require a college degree but many do not. And the district also has internships. Steve Corona had a chance to speak with Mariana Glover and Brooke Dyson. The two work in the school district’s Human Resources department.

Lincoln Financial Group

Started in Fort Wayne in the early 1900s, Lincoln Financial Group has over 100 years in business. With a variety of financial services, they have employees from all over the United States.

They have entry-level positions as well as internship opportunities that do not require degrees to get started. Steve talks to Brayan Castillo about what positions they have available and who their ideal candidates are.

Parkview Health

As the largest employer in Northeast Indiana, Parkview Health is looking to fill a variety of positions across the state in clinical, operations, finance, and support services. While a lot of positions require a degree, they have a large variety of jobs that do not require degrees. Parkview also has the option to reimburse tuition for qualifying courses.

Parkview also has very robust high school and college internships taking over 100 students each year. Internships have the potential to turn into full-time positions.
